Hang Pictures and Display Photos
Most people have pictures of their loved ones and other photos on the walls of their home. Since pictures are often hung on the walls in the home, they can turn your RV into your second home. Because RV walls are not as sturdy as the walls of your home, there are a few guidelines that you should follow when you are hanging pictures.
·
Use
Small Photos: Large heavy items have a good chance of falling during traveling,
therefore, the pictures you hang should be small and lightweight. You should
use 5” x 7” frames and group them together to create a photo collage.
·
Avoid
Using Nails and Screws: Rather than putting nails and screws into the walls,
you should use Velcro picture hanging strips. They come in a variety of sizes
and are rated by how much weight they can hold. Best of all, they can be
removed without causing any damage.
·
Use
Plastic Frames: Just in case a photo falls off the wall, you should try to find
plastic picture frames that don't contain glass.
Dress Up Your Shelves and Counters
Another way to make your RV feel more like home is to dress up your shelves and countertops. If you have favorite photos, they can be displayed on the shelves. If you are going to be using traditional frames, keep something handy that you can wrap them in when you travel. If you want to leave them out, you should use plastic frames. Electronic picture frames are great because they are sturdy and can display several pictures at once. You can also put decorative knick-knacks on the shelves and countertops. If you are going to put out knick-knacks, make sure that they are plastic. If you put up glass ornaments, they may break.
Liven Up the Space With Patterns
Adding curtains, valances, and throw pillows is a great way to liven up the RV and make it feel more like home. If there were already curtains hanging in the RV, replace them with something that is more your style. You should do the same with the throw pillows. You can even put down throw rugs to make the RV feel warmer and homier. In the bedroom, you can buy a bedspread that is similar to the one that you have at home. This will make it feel as though you are getting into your own bed.
Your RV is your second home, therefore, it should look like your home. Take a few minutes to add some creature comforts before going out on the road.
